Photography has been in my blood since I was a child and is my life-long passion. My father, Danny Kishter, was an avid photographer and his love of photography has been my inspiration. When I was twelve, he gave me my first SLR, a Nikon F2. The F2 and I traveled everywhere together.

I followed in my father's footsteps. My dad photographed people, travel and special occasions. He was a master in the darkroom. His greatest pleasure was making prints and giving them to friends and relatives and knowing they would cherish them for years to come.

In middle school, I shot for the Pikesville Pipeline newspaper and in high school I shot for the yearbook. I eventually majored in Photography and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communications-Photography from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Since graduation I held various photography jobs ranging from stock photography account executive and editor, to photo librarian, to photojournalist, to freelance photographer. Some of my commercial freelance photography clients include: Campbell's Soup, Guest Informant Magazine, Coca-Cola, Action for the Homeless, Crabtree and Evelyn and People Encouraging People.

I am currently a freelance photographer shooting events such as: B'nai Mitzvahs, weddings, people, and travel. I am still a Nikon shooter believing in their ever improving digital gear.

I am passionate about capturing the way light falls on a subject and preserving a moment in time. I am moved by the way light transforms a subject and creates a mood. I believe that we can relive our memories through photographs and at the end of day the most valuable possession that we hold is our photographs unchanged by time.

Creatively yours,

Joody
